Self-Sustaining Community with Aquaponics
Regen Villages is creating a 15,500 square meter self-sustaining community that will house 100 families. The Regen eco-village is located in Amsterdam and the project is projected to be completed by 2018.
The Regen Village is “a regenerative system combining new technology and renewable energy powered homes, with organic food production right on the doorstep.” The houses are built inside a greenhouse “envelope” and are equipped with water collection systems, solar panels and are passively heated.
The community has a seasonal garden, biogas facility and aquaponics!
